I am going to let her beads speak for themselves....
Lamp work beads with sunken dot and raised design

This is a pretty little set of 5 unique hand crafted lamp work beads that is ready for your own jewellery creation.
The Focal bead has raised and sunken dots in turquoise and cream with clear turquoise trapping an air bubble at the centre of the cream. it measures approximately 11mm x 19.5mm
The two clear turquoise beads measure approximately 5.5mm 9.5mm and the two opaque turquoise beads measure approximately 7.4mm x 11mm.
There are 6 small transparent turquoise seed beads between the larger beads.
The lamp work beads have been annealed in my digitally controlled kiln giving them strength and durability and they have been hand cleaned.

Lamp work beads with abstract swirl design

Really cute little set of white beads with a cheery splash of bright orange to the focal bead.
Made in my North of England studio using good quality glass these beads have been annealed in my digitally controlled kiln and have been hand cleaned ready for you to use in your own jewellery/craft creation.
The focal bead is approximately 18.5mm x 13mm and is white with a twisty swathe of orange randomly placed round it's middle. The bead was then wrapped in clear glass to add depth to the over all effect.
The two smaller white lamp work beads measure approximately 10mm x 5.5mm
I have added 4 transparent orange AB seed beads to finish the set.
The lamp work beads were wound on a 2.4mm mandrel

Love this;

seaglass blue green purple abstract leaded stained glass panel
Small but perfectly formed abstract stained glass panel incorporating pieces of sea glass (broken bottle glass tumbled in the sea and collected by me from local beaches) into a leaded panel with vibrant green, blue and purple streaky glass. Inspired by the rock pools on the Devon coast. This is a traditional leaded stained glass panel and looks fabulous with the light shining through it and the contrast between the matt, frosted sea glass and the smooth transparent stained glass.
Made using traditional leading techniques. Includes hanging chain
11.5 (4.5 inch) x 13 (5 quarter inch)

Tools of the trade

Okay when working with glass you need three essintal tools.

1st You need an oil filled glass cutter,
these come in various shapes but the
most popular is this one a toyo pencil type
oil filled cutter.
The oil is held in the clear reservoir and it
has a wheel cutter at the end.

2nd You need a tool called breakers.
These look a little bit like pliers but have a
flatter head, the head also has a curve.
Breakers are to help break the glass once
you have cut it.

Lastly the last piece is not essential but very
very useful. This tool is called is called a Grozer.
Its great for tough corners or thicker glass.
The grozers have a serrated jaw which nibbles
at the glass.

New Project Glass Fairy

This week I have been trying new thing's.
Here is my first Glass Fairy.

I found a patten/design and printed it out on to paper.
I then used this a guide to cutting the glass, you can see below how it's coming together.

One tip make sure you look out for the needle sharp shard's of glass.
I didn't and kept leaving my mark on bit's very annoying and painful!!

As before in my commision project I put the glass in the kiln with clear glass covering the joins.

Here is the finished piece.

Hanging in the window.
When in place in the window I think she comes to life.
For my first attempt, I am pleased with the results.

You can Purchase her here http://www.vibrantglassart.com/gifts

Hang Your Heart

New Hanging Hearts.
First we have a double deep red transparent fused glass hanging heart. Attaching the two was quite difficult but I am very happy how they have turned out.

Next big blue and then small sweet pink and lastly a solid sweet pink which is textured and has small holes making it very organic.

These would make a perfect gift for the one you love, hang your heart in their window.
